This week is Recycle week at UJ.  This blog therefore deals with “recycling” in the UJ law library context.
We Rethink our current approach to books and Reduce the carbon footprint of our book and journal collection by looking at what e-books and open access journals are currently available.  We also talk about the value of Reusing what we have and think about the Recycling of devices.

· UJ LAW LIBRARY MATTERS –
    • Access to databases
If you experience any problems accessing the databases, please fill out this form , available on the library website.
    • LexisNexis (Internet and Intranet access)
UJ currently has trial access to LexisNexis on the Internet until 31 October 2012. It is also available on the Intranet.
With the online (Internet) version, content is updated daily, whereas with the Intranet version content is updated monthly.  The Intranet version is only available on campus and does not require a pin.
    • New book orders
The last day for submission of new book orders is 25 September 2012.

From January until August 2012 468 new order requests were received in the law library.  41 of the requests were already on order or in the catalogue.  417 books were therefore ordered.

We received 432 new books in the law library during the January - August 2012 period.
    • Wi-Fi in the law library
We are happy to announce that WiFi is now available in the law library.   A set-up manual is available in the law library and staff members on level 1 can assist if you have access problems. Please ask the law librarians if you need further information.
